The
answer is YES He is!! The scriptures are a "living word". When Jesus
spoke to people 2,000 years ago, he was also speaking to us today.<br />
For instance let's take the reading from Matthew...<br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">Matthew 25:34-40</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">34
Then the king will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are
blessed by my Father. Inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the
foundation of the world.</span><br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">35 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, a stranger and you welcomed me,</span><br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">36 naked and you clothed me, ill and you cared for me, in prison and you visited me.'</span><br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">37 Then the righteous will answer him and say, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink?</span><br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">38 When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?</span><br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">39 When did we see you ill or in prison, and visit you?'</span><br />
<span style="color: #333399; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;">40
And the king will say to them in reply, 'Amen, I say to you, whatever
you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.'</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: 180%;"><span style="color: #ffcc00; font-weight: bold;">(1)</span></span> After reading the above from the gospel of Matthew, please <span style="color: #990000; font-weight: bold;">click on <span style="color: #6600cc;">"Matthew 25 song" and "The Least of These" (on upper the right)</span></span><span style="color: #6600cc;">.</span> After watching <span style="font-weight: bold;">BOTH</span> of these videos <span style="color: #990000; font-weight: bold;">please post a comment on <span style="font-style: italic;">how God</span></span><span style="color: #990000; font-style: italic; font-weight: bold;"> </span><span style="color: #990000; font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-style: italic;">
is speaking to YOU today. Do you know anyone that may be a "least of
these"? Where do you see someone in need in your world today? How can
you help?...Maybe as part of your Power of One Project or maybe in your
everyday life?</span> </span><span style="color: black; font-style: italic;">(Please post your answers to these questions using your #)</span><span style="color: #990000; font-weight: bold;"><br />
<br />
</span><span style="color: #ffcc00; font-size: 180%; font-weight: bold;">(2)</span><span style="color: #990000; font-weight: bold;"> <span style="color: black;">We
also hear the Word of God at mass. Since you are preparing for
Confirmation, I hope that you attend mass on a regular basis (remember
the session on Church). </span><br />
</span><span style="color: #990000;">God speaks to us during the Liturgy of the
Word (readings from the bible). When you go to mass this week, please
listen very carefully to the readings and Father's sermon. <span style="font-weight: bold;">Post your reflection on one of the readings or Father's sermon.</span></span><span style="color: #990000; font-weight: bold;"> <span style="font-style: italic;"> What was the message that you heard from God? How will you use that message in your life?</span><br />
<span style="color: black;">You only have to post your reflection for one
Sunday. It is important that you attend mass and post your reflection
before our next in-person session.<br />
<br />
</span></span><span style="color: #ffcc00; font-size: 100%; font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: black;"><span style="color: #ffcc00; font-size: 180%;">(3)</span> Click on <span style="color: purple;">"No 'gift' is too small when blessed by Jesus"</span> </span></span><span style="font-size: x-small;"><i><span style="color: #ffcc00;"><span style="color: black;">(on upper right of page)</span></span></i></span><span style="color: #ffcc00; font-size: 100%; font-weight: bold;"><span style="color: black;">and
watch the video reflection. Remember that God has given you a gift.
Take that gift to Jesus and ask him to bless it and help you to use your
gifts/talents to help others (maybe in your project). Maybe you have a
"broken-ness" that can be given to Jesus...blessed... and used to help
others.</span></span><br />
